BBCCaribbean.com BBC Caribbean report: "Activists press for reparations
US Virgin Islands activists have stepped up their efforts for slavery reparations from Denmark by mounting a media blitz in the European nation.
Leader of the Virgin Islands Reparations Movement, Shelley Moorhead, is currently in Copenhagen to press the reparations case.
He told BBC Caribbean they are keen on opening dialogue with Danish officials.
'Reparations are not defined in monetary terms for us in the Virgin Islands. And very specifically reparations is an acknowledgement between communities which share a common past, with the aim to heal wounds from past human rights violations,' Mr Moorehead said."

Campaigners on Monday said they were "deeply disappointed" after the US Supreme Court decided not to review the case of a St Kitts born British citizen who is on death row in Texas for killing a young mother.

Linda Carty was convicted in 2002 over the abduction and murder of a 25-year-old woman after a trial which supporters say was "catastrophically flawed".

Campaigners Reprieve, a legal action charity, said that the 51-year-old's life was now in the hands of the Republican Governor of Texas, Rick Perry.

However, they note that since he succeeded George Bush nine years ago, Governor Perry had only granted clemency to one death row inmate.

Carty always maintained that she was framed over the murder by the men who carried out the abduction due to her earlier work as an informant for the Drug Enforcement Agency.

(10 unread) Yahoo! Mail, pumpkinnassau: "This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'
On this week's edition of 'The Hal Lindsey Report': US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates sent a confidential 3-page memo to President Obama. In it, he complained that the Administration had no long-term policy for dealing with Iran. I applaud Gates for speaking up to the President about this dangerous failure. However, I'm a bit perplexed that it took someone in the Administration 15 months to either realize the problem or muster the courage to say it.

I'm also amazed that the Vice Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff told Congress that Iran is a year away from having enough weapons-grade uranium for a nuclear device and 3 to 5 years away from a nuclear bomb. That's exactly what the CIA told George W. Bush in 2002! Frank Gaffney, a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Forces and Arms Control Policy scoffs at that idea. He says Iran could go nuclear 'any day.' He makes a good argument.

Israel has learned that Syria has supplied Hezbollah in Lebanon with advanced anti-aircraft systems and long-range missiles. It's also reported that they've been given SCUD missiles like Saddam Hussein used against Coalition forces during the Gulf War. These missiles put virtually all of Israel within Hezbollah's range now. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak believes that Hezbollah may have 40,000 missiles ready for use against Israel. Unfortunately, neither the White House nor the State Department believes it.

Nonetheless, Israel has put Syria on notice. The London Sunday Times is reporting that Israel sent a message to Syria. The message warned that Israel now views Hezbollah as a division of the Syrian military. If Hezbollah attacks, Israel will retaliate against Syria. Earlier, Israel's Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman announced that 'if war breaks out, the Assad dynasty will lose its power and cease to reign in Syria.' Another Cabinet minister put it more bluntly. He said, 'We'll return Syria to the Stone Age....' That sounds very familiar, doesn't it? The prophet Isaiah said essentially the same thing. Different verbiage, same result.

Isaiah predicts that Damascus will be obliterated in the first of two 'last days' wars. The second is predicted by Ezekiel to involve Russia. But why would Russia care enough about tiny Israel to go to war against it? Ezekiel says it will be for profit. Or possibly for loss of profit? As you know, for many years I've said that for Israel to be at the 'center of the world,' as Ezekiel suggested, it must come into possession of great wealth. I've also believed that that abundance may come through the discovery of vast oil and gas reserves. America's own United States Geological Survey now confirms that Israel, indeed, sits atop unbelievable quantities of these resources. If its natural gas reserves were to allow Israel to replace Russia as Europe's primary supplier of natural gas, then Europe will be grateful and protective. If Russia loses that revenue and geopolitical leverage, it may be furious and vengeful.

It's just a thought, but isn't it exciting how scenarios that seemed utterly impossible just a few short years ago now seem eminently plausible? These are exhilarating times. And they just scream out that Christ's coming for His bride is almost upon us! Are you ready?

Gmail - News from Hal Lindsey Media Ministries - pumpkinbahamas@gmail.com: "This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'
On this week's edition of 'The Hal Lindsey Report': This week, President Obama hosted the largest gathering of heads of state in the US since the founding of the UN in San Francisco in 1945. He convened the 'Nuclear Security Summit.' Ostensibly, the goal of the summit was to encourage nations to secure their stockpiles of nuclear materials and weapons to keep them out of the hands of terrorists and rogue states.

However, word leaked out that Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, and Pakistan were planning to ambush Israel to demand that it declare its nuclear weapons arsenal. Some suspect the US was even in on the plan. So Israeli PM Netanyahu decided to skip the summit and foil the plot. Since the media was mostly banned from covering the summit sessions, we'll never know for certain if that was indeed the plan or what the summit actually accomplished.

It should be obvious to everyone by now that President Obama isn't exactly going to be Israel's best friend. In fact, he seems to consistently sympathize with the Arab/Muslim/Palestinian cause. I've wondered, 'Why is the White House more outraged at an Israeli plan to build apartment buildings in Jerusalem that it is over the Iranian plan to build nuclear weapons?' I believe the reason is that Mr. Obama views Israel as the CAUSE of the Arab-Israeli conflict. That should come as no surprise, though. Anti-Semitism was a theme of his pastor for 20 years. He must have heard something he liked or agreed with else why would he have stayed in the church for two decades?

Evidence is leaking out that the US may be trying to freeze out Israel's nuclear establishment. Israeli scientists say they are now having difficulty obtaining visas to come to America to study at our universities and attend conferences and symposiums. Further, some of those scientists believe the US has imposed an unofficial embargo on parts and supplies for Israel's aging, French-built nuclear reactor at Dimona. One of the major factors contributing to Israel's survival for the last 60 years in a very tough neighborhood is its policy of 'nuclear ambiguity.' Do they or do they not have nuclear weapons? That doubt (and the Israelis' infamous 'Samson Option') is precisely why the surrounding quarter of a billion Arab Muslims have not tried another invasion for the past 35 years. It now appears, though, that the US is taking steps to force Israel into signing the Nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty and revealing its strengths... or weaknesses.

The White House has devised a new plan for peace in Israel -- one that it intends to IMPOSE on the tiny nation. I'll cover the details on the show, but suffice it to say that portions of the plan reveal the President's shallow understanding of the dynamics at work. Or, it may imply that he does understand and it simply fits into a more sinister plan for the region.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia recently castigated the Muslim world for not having a plan for 'final victory' in Palestine. That's ominous. Anytime I hear the word 'final' used in connection with Israel's future, certain images spring to mind. And trust me, those images are not far off the mark this time, either.

All of this has a familiar ring, doesn't it? It sounds exactly like the solution the prophet Daniel predicted for Israel in the days just before the true Messiah returns. And though I don't believe the stars of the final act are onstage yet, I think the present actors are moving things in the prophesied direction.

Finally, I want to share a couple of thoughts on the occasion of the tragic death of Poland's president, along with his wife and many leaders from that great country. Lech Kaczynski was a valued ally of America. And, as you know, we don't have many of those left.
